To use Irish in Uíbh Ráthach, it helps if you know people who speak Irish.

We create opportunities for people who speak Irish or are learning Irish to meet each other in natural contexts: events, walks, conversation circles etc.

Conversation Groups

For beginners

TUESDAYS

  • An Gleann, community centre, every second Tuesday, starting on 14/10/25, 11 am

THURSDAYS

  • Cathair Saidhbhín, various cafés around Cahersiveen, see instagram and facebook of 'Chathair Saidhbhín le Gaeilge’, 11 am.

Whatsapp group

A ‘UR ag caint’ is a whatsapp group acting as an opportunity to chat about things related to South Kerry.

Uíbh Ráthach is a beautiful place and what better way to spend time here than to go for a walk. And if you go for a walk with Irish speakers - this is a great opportunity for you to spend several hours speaking Irish in nice and friendly company!
